Unclaimed property
This information is applicable to investors resident in British Columbia or Quebec, or investors who were resident in these provinces and believe that their property may have become unclaimed at that time.
British Columbia
IA Clarington Investments Inc. ("IA Clarington") maintains a database of unclaimed property in accordance with the BC Unclaimed Property Act that may be searched by contacting us in writing at the address below.
If you believe you may have unclaimed property with us and your investments were made while a resident of British Columbia, we recommend that you contact your investment dealer immediately for assistance. Alternatively, you may contact IA Clarington directly and provide the following information in writing in order to assist us in locating your file and to establish your legal entitlement to the property:
- Your name, and current mailing address;
- Your old mailing address that would match our records;
- Any and all details you can provide about your property; and
- Certified copies of two pieces of identification.
Quebec
IA Clarington will undertake to contact investors, whose investment dealers have advised IA Clarington that they are untraceable, prior to transferring unclaimed property to Revenu Quebec. If you believe you may have unclaimed property with us and your investments were made while a resident of Quebec, we recommend that you contact your investment dealer immediately.
Otherwise, you may contact us in writing at the address below to determine if your investments were transferred to Revenu Quebec. If your investments have already been transferred, only Revenu Quebec may handle your claim.

Alberta
The Alberta Unclaimed Personal Property and Vested Property Act set out specific responsibilities for the administration of unclaimed property if the last known address of the owner of the property was in Alberta. The legislation is designed to ensure that all reasonable effort is made to return unclaimed property to its owner.
If you believe you may have unclaimed property with us and your investments were made while a resident of Alberta, we recommend that you contact your investment dealer immediately for assistance. Alternatively, you may contact IA Clarington directly and provide the following information in writing in order to assist us in locating your file and to establish your legal entitlement to the property:
- Your name, and current mailing address;
- Your old mailing address that would match our records;
- Any and all details you can provide about your property; and
- Certified copies of two pieces of identification.
